You can also check out the pinboards on the third floor of the FSW, here you can find interesting vacancies and internships which the professors put up themselves. On the pinboard next to the Hok you can also find some vacancies and internships. The internship coördinator has already checked those internships for all the requirements. The Career Zone can help you as well by giving some available options for internships with different organisations. The internship has to be scientifically based
It should encompass a lot more than just making coffee or copying forms
Your project has to be defined properly
Who and what are you going to be studying where and over which period of time?
It is not a ‘shadowing internship’
You're supposed to be the boss of your own internship
You are working at a fairly big organisation
You’ve got your own working space (so you go from home to your job)
Foundation 'The Faketory'
Foundation the Faketory is an international artstudio, led by dr. Martijn van Oorschot en drs. Sabya van Elswijk. Martijn, anthropologist and creative director, started the Faketory in 1998 as Martijn Crowe. It became famous for its art expositions, art- and music performances and as publisher. Sabya is a medical sociologist, specialised on health services and education. They believe that art should have a direction, not just l’art pour l’art, but to make the world a better place. Social art - art out of humanity. Martijn and Sabya work together with people from the street, teenagers from deprived urban situations, dragueens and elderly. Anthropological research, mixed media, art and books are being used to show the world what happens to these people and to offer possibilities to handle the problems they encountered differently. The most important question Martijn and Sabya pose is: What do you bring to the world? They offer internships of which you can find more information here and that’s also where you will find the requirements and possibilities.
