1. What inspired you to become the chair of our association’s board?
Last year during the Iti-trip in Morocco we had a really nice conversation about becoming the board with a few of us. It was with Chloe and Juli (our current internal and external officers). We got motivated and we were full of ideas; what to change and how to make Itiwana a safe place for every student.
Also, I have enjoyed working in a team since I was a kid. I always found myself in leadership positions which I enjoyed a lot. Managing and representing the association are two things which I am fond of doing.
2. What’s one goal you’re really excited about achieving this year with the
board?
My biggest goal is to reach out to as many people as we can. CADS students are really diverse; we come from several countries, have a deep academic interest, but most importantly we enjoy being surrounded by people. Therefore, I find it important to provide a wide range of activities from discussing anthropological topics to having the best parties of our lives. I want to create something with my board that we can remember and feel nostalgic about 10-20 years later.
3. Outside of your board duties, what do you enjoy doing in your free
time?
I enjoy travelling a lot, I am going to Berlin in a few weeks. I am planning an Asian journey for the coming summer which takes up much time; for now the plan is India, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. I was in Sicily during the summer which was the peak of my summer and I could enjoy the amazing weather with my friends. Also, I am a member of the ESN cocktail committee. I make cocktails monthly at their parties which is not only a great way to get to know more people but to unwind.
4. What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
I love trash music, especially Hungarian, which is actually a bit embarrassing. Although I grew up on classical music, listening to trash was my rebellious move, I guess and now I am stuck with that. But generally, music is a really important part of my life, I love a really wide range from Chopin to Central Cee. I believe all kinds of music has its place and time to listen to.
5. What advice would you give to someone considering joining the board
in the future?
I know it seems a lot of work and honestly you have to make sacrifices, however the best part of being a board member is getting to know students from other years and receiving random messages about how much they enjoyed the events.
6. What do you hope people remember most about your time as chair?
I really hope the members find me approachable and can see my laid-back side. While managing the events and the board, it is hard sometimes to just relax and let things go, but I would love it if the members see me as someone with whom they can have conversations and more importantly have fun
